Norway, considered to be among the favourites of the EURO 2008 as normal, were calm and optimistic before the draw for the final round in FYR Macedonia.
“This is an interesting draw, including a couple of relatively new opponents and a tough main round,” assistant national coach Thorir Hergeirsson said about the draw.
The team of coach Marit Breivik was drawn into Group B together with Spain, Ukraine and Portugal. The assistant is looking forward to meet these three nations.
“We have not met Spain or Ukraine for a long time, while Portugal are new to us at major tournaments. However, the main round – where we will meet the best three of Denmark, France, Hungary and Romania – will be inevitably tough,” Hergeirsson added.
