“There is no doubt that our young team will be under as much pressure as possible in this group,” this was the immediate reaction of Denmark’s national coach, Jan Pytlick as the draw for the Women´s EURO 2008 in FYR Macedonia was known.
The draw placed Denmark in Group A together with Hungary, France and Romania. However, the Danish coach saw the positive aspects of this tough draw.
“This is not a bad thing taking in consideration the fact that we want to gain as much experience as possible with our talented young players before the EURO 2010 at home.
“This draw does not make my hands shake even a bit. We still have a good chance to go on from this group and play even more matches at this high level. Many of my players have no experience on this level at all,” added Pytlick.
The coach stated already about his team that people should not expect medals from the Danish girls in FYR Macedonia this year. He is still building a new team, mainly consisting of talented youngsters.
If Denmark could manage to go on from the preliminary round, they would run into the three best placed teams from Group B (Norway, Portugal, Spain or Ukraine) in the main round.
