Taking charge of the EHF EURO 2012 Final today will be the Norwegian couple of Kenneth Abrahamsen and Arne M. Kristiansen.

Abrahamsen and Kristiansen are both aged 49 and have been whistling together as a couple for an incredible 36 years!

Both come from the Norwegian city of Kristiansand and became international referees in 1990. Since then they have whistled 290 international matches (national team games and European Cup game) for the IHF and EHF.

Abrahamsen and Kristiansen are currently participating at their third Men’s EHF EURO after 2008 and 2010. Aside from this they have whistled matches at the World Championships 1993 (Norway/women), 2007 (Germany/men) and 2011 (Sweden/men).

Speaking to ehf-euro.com the couple admitted the EHF EURO 2012 final is their greatest success in their career closely followed by officiating at the 2003 Men’s Junior World Championship Final in Brazil and two EHF European Cup finals.

ehf-euro.com was allowed access to their physical preparation ahead of the final, alongside 3/4^th Placement match referees Lars Geipel and Marcus Helbig.
