Serbia started their EHF EURO 2010 campaign with a 25:20 loss against joint-hosts Denmark at the Gigantium in Aalborg last night.
National team coach Dusko Milic left the game very disappointed with the performance of his team, especially in the first half, when the hosts led 14:6.
"I do not know what happened,” he said. ”We played very poorly, with many mistakes and loose passes. In the second half we tried to change something, but it was too late."
Dilic couldn´t explain the first half where his side underperformed.
"We´ll have to look at what happened in the first half,” he said.
”Andrea Lekic and the other players didn´t perform but I was very disappointed with our first half performance."
"We played so badly that the result after the first 30 minutes wasn´t surprising.”
Even though Serbia lost their first game Lekic still hopes that his team will qualify through to the Main Round.
"We have the chance to progress, but we have to improve our game,” he said.
"We have to beat Spain, as Romania will be hard to beat and if we progress we would love to play Montenegro."
