At the occasion of the 10th Ordinary EHF Congress on 25 September 2010 in Copenhagen, the 2014 Men´s European Championship was awarded to Denmark, who received more votes than the joint bid of Croatia/Hungary.

The EHF accepted the potential use of the following venues at the EHF EURO 2014:

• Aalborg - Gigantium
• Aarhus - NRGi Arena
• Ballerup - Super Arena
• Odense - Arena Fyn
• Herning - MCH Multi Arena
  
  

At the occasion of the 104th Meeting of the EHF Executive Committee on 09 April 2011 in Vienna, the 2014 Women´s European Championship was awarded to the joint bid from the Hungarian and Croatian Handball Federations, who received more votes than the bid of Turkey.

The EHF accepted the potential use of the following venues at the EHF EURO 2014:

• Gyõr/HUN: Gyõr Arena (to be newly constructed)
• Debrecen/HUN: Fõnix Hall
• Varaždin/CRO: City Sport Hall
• Zagreb/CRO: Arena Zagreb
• Budapest/HUN: Papp László Budapest Sportaréna (final venue)
