Herning

Herning is situated in the Midtjylland region in the heart of Jutland and has a population of 46,000. The town is situated, about 170 kilometres from the German border and three and a half hours drive from Copenhagen.

The town of Herning is the center of the Danish textile industry. At the end of the 17th century there were just a few farms here, but in the 19th century Herning developed quickly to become an important centre of communications and a number of industrial firms settled here. Large numbers of fairs and exhibitions are held in the town.

Herning is a major trade fair and congress centre and is therefore used to accommodating numerous guests. The city is also known for its open friendliness, growth, inventiveness, enterprising business life, good jobs, rich commercial life, vibrant research and educational environments, varied architecture, active sports life and rich cultural life - to put it in a nutshell; a city with everything.
