Competition

The EHF Euro 2010 Final Tournament will take place 7 to 19 December 2010.

The final round of the 2010 EHF Euro will be played with a total of 16 teams.

Denmark and Norway are directly qualified for the final tournament as organisers.

All other teams have to participate in the qualification groups in order to qualify for the final tournament. There are a total of 14 places available at the final tournament for those teams from the qualification groups.

The draw for the qualification groups will take place on 24 March 2009 in Vienna.

The calendar for the 2009/10 season includes 3 periods of two matches each for these qualification groups, as the playing schedule is based on 7 groups of 4 teams.

The teams ranked no. 1 and no. 2 from each group will qualify directly to the final tournament.

It will not be allowed to play home matches in the country of the opponent.
