Belgrade

Belgrade is the beautiful capital of Serbia. The city that never sleeps lies on the confluence of two big rivers, Danube and Sava, a crucial traffic point connecting Eastern and Western Europe.

The capital of Serbia has 1,6 million inhabitants and represents the cultural and economic centre of South-Eastern Europe. With a history of more than 6000 years it is also one of the oldest cities in Europe.

Belgrade is attractive with numerous cafes, restaurants and clubs. The city has a charming atmosphere and a very famous night-life on boat-restaurants on both rivers.

Belgrade is the largest sporting location within the Balkan Peninsula. It offers 17 sports-recreational centres, 600 sports facilities and over a thousand various playing courts.

Almost every Serb can tell you something about the incredible atmosphere in Pionir hall during sports events.

Many rock concerts have been held in the Pionir hall because of the infamous acoustic. So please feel free to sing while you watch handball. The local sports fans will show you how.

A new sports hall, the Beogradska Arena, was built to house the passsionate crowds of Belgrade within a larger space.
